I don't ever feel pain in my left leg when I'm working out, but afterwards, usually the next day, I feel a tight discomfort in my left IT band and glutes. I'm sure it's how I'm moving. Any tricks for being conscious of my body mechanics when I'm moving? Thanks!
Hi Margaret!! So sorry we missed your message! Well, here's our best guess: we all have asymmetries in our bodies, so it seems like your left side is either working harder *or* like you said, could be misaligned. Sometimes it comes down to making sure you are finding a nice active neutral position of your pelvis, not too arched in your lower back and not tucked under with your tail. Hope that makes sense! Make sure you give yourself a nice stretch after class (do Adeline's or Stella's stretch if you need to follow someone) or at least, make sure you do 8-10 full deep breaths in the figure 4 stretch.
